Meet Newly Sworn-In Officer Shawn Pirozzolo

Officer Shawn Pirozzolo was sworn in by Mayor Rob Maloney on February 28, 2019.

Shawn began his law enforcement career in 2014 as an intern with the Elmira Heights Police Department. He then worked for two years at Corning Community College as a Public Safety officer, all while completing his Associates Degree in Criminal Justice.

In March 2018, after graduating from the Southern Tier Law Enforcement Academy, Shawn was hired by the Elmira Police Department. In January, 2019 Shawn started with the Horseheads Police Department.

Shawn is certified in Crisis Intervention and ALERT School response training among other qualifications. Shawn comes to us with a family background in law enforcement. His father is a retired Police Officer and his brother is currently a deputy Sheriff with the Chemung County Sheriff’s Department.
